Facial Anatomy & Likeness Workflow

Piotr Kujko  specializes in character design and sculpting. Kujko works as Character and Asset Artist in Platige Image in Poland. Kujko graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland. Kujko has several years of experience as a 3D Artist, working in commercials and post production studios.

Piotr will teach you the workflows for sculpting realistic faces in ZBrush with the objective of understanding the different elements of form. You will learn all the steps in the pipeline and understand how to prepare your realistic facial model for presentation.

What You’ll Learn


The course will go through the full process of sculpting and preparing facial models for presentation. The emphasis will be on establishing proper form and proportions, as you work through anatomical and facial details. Creating proper human based textures to optimize a solid presentation. Students will learn how to get the most out of the various tools to get the best results.

By the end of the course, students will learn how to create a realistic facial portrait from start to finish. They should also have gained knowledge on how to troubleshoot new problems or tasks.

This workshop on Photo Realistic Portraits will consist of six live modules. You’ll learn core facial design skills and workflows and be part of a community of artists working to achieve next level quality in their work.

By the end of the workshop you'll:

Facial Creation Process

Collecting images and organizing them into moodboards. Critical overview of the Facial Creation Process.

Facial Sculpting

Facial anatomy will be the primary focus. Face muscles, face expressions, and understanding the forms.

Texturing

Facial texturing using TexturingXYZ photoscans and how to achieve the most realistic look of details using multichannels textures and reproject them in Zbrush.

Skin Shading & Eye Creation

Creating skin shaders in Maya. Workflow, for creating reliable eye materials. With the focus on how to achieve the best result in the Arnold rendering process.

Xgen

Dive deep into Hair Theory, Hair Clumps, and volume. The construction approach for having a profound hairstyle.

Lighting & Rendering

The pipeline for lighting, scene composition and rendering the final image using Arnold in Maya. Personal techniques used during post processing stage, and how to prepare your artwork to share on the internet.
