Global Game Jam 2024 Information

We are thrilled to announce that Vertex School has officially been designated as a site for this year's Global Game Jam! This event is a unique opportunity for game developers, designers, artists, and enthusiasts to come together and unleash their creativity in a collaborative and fun environment.

The Global Game Jam is the world's largest game creation event, taking place in locations around the globe. It's not just about programming; it's about being creative, collaborating, and having a great time with fellow game aficionados. Whether you're a seasoned developer or new to the world of game design, we welcome you to join us in this fantastic journey of creativity and innovation.

Event Details:

• Jam Dates:
  • Jan 26, 2024, at 1 pm PST
  • Jan 28, 2024, at 9 am PST
• Registration: Please visit our registration page to join us! Spots are limited, so be sure to sign up as soon as possible to secure your spot.
• Location: The jam will be held on our global-game-jam-2024 Discord Channel 

Schedule: 

During the jam, participants will work in teams to create a game from scratch, all within a set theme that will be revealed at the start of the event. It's a chance to learn new skills, meet like-minded individuals, and contribute to the vibrant game development community.

Entering Games

All games need to be uploaded to the Global Game Jam (GGJ) website before the jam is complete. All content needs to be on our server by 5 PM PST on Sunday, January 28th, 2024.

Sharing and showing your work is a core GGJ philosophy, so we ask that not only game executables be uploaded, but where possible, source code, assets, makefiles, and anything else needed to compile your game.

All GGJ jammers hold IP rights to their games and file uploads are shared under the Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0), which allows for others to share & alter, but not sell - more info in the FAQ.
