What You’ll Learn
The course will go through the full process of building and preparing your models. The emphasis will be on creating the environmental building of Batman vs Superman. As you work through the process, you will understand the theory of blueprints. Students will learn how to get the most out of the various tools to get the best results.
By the end of the course, students will learn the pipeline on creating a Hero Building and the sub structures encompassing it. They should also have gained knowledge on how to troubleshoot new problems or tasks.
This workshop on Environment Modeling will consist of six live lessons. You’ll learn core environmental design skills and workflows and be part of a community of artists working to achieve next level quality in their work.
By the end of the workshop you'll:
- Know the principles for blueprints as they relate to building in 3D
- Know the techniques for Building Sets to Approved Camera Shots
- Have mastered your way through the Environment Modeling pipeline.
- Have created your own Hero Archetype Environmental Building from concept to completed 3D print.
Blueprint & References
Understand the theory of blue prints and how to use them in Maya.
Building The Hero Building
In this section, we will use reference from the net to build our parts for the structure.
Assembly Of The Main Building
Learn the workflow, how to quickly assemble the Main Building and start creating parts of the sub structures.
Creating dynamic textures, and understanding the process of applying them. The purpose of having all the parts pre done with uv’s will become very evident.
The Book Building
We will continue to refine and use our new skills and start building the surrounding structures of the environment.
We will explore lighting and a PBR setup using Arnold. Allowing for a nice render.
