As a character artist you're the person that translates the story into the life like characters that the players interact with. While environment art is a rapidly changing field, character artists are rewarded by diving deeper into their craft and mastering things like anatomy. The game industry is growing at an annual rate of 16% and continues it's take over of the entainment industry. Our students go to jobs in AAA studios like Bungie, Bioware, EA and CD Projekt Red as well as tech companies like Houzz. If you have grit, persistance and a love for characters then becoming a character artist could be a career for you.

Your Capstone Project & The Face
Decide on your capstone project and then dive deep into the anatomy of the face.
3-4
The Body
Learn the anatomy of the human body and what you need to do to create a game ready base mesh.
5-6
Clothing & Props
Learn Marvelous Designer and build your characters entire outfit along with props.
7-8
Low Resolution & Texture Sets
Create in-game topology and UVs. At this stage you'll also decide on the texture sets you'll bring into Substance Painter to achieve the level of quality you need.
9-10
Texturing & Materials
Learn how to create realistic skin, hair and materials for Marmoset or Unreal Engine.
11-12
Real Time Rendering
Render your character in Unreal Engine and make sure you're hitting all the hiring triggers.

Complete a 10-15 minute application covering your background, goals, and experiences. Then create your account.

Schedule Your Portfolio Review
Meet with an Admissions Representative to discuss your application, walk through the program structure, and find out which program is the best fit.

Enroll
Complete online enrollment with your Admissions Representative and pay tuition.
