What you'll learn:
If you're a beginner to intermediate environment artist interested in starting a career in Virtual Production, this course is designed to introduce you to the concepts and skills that will help get your foot in the door.
We use Unreal Engine to stand up and organize a Digital Set using techniques used in real world Virtual Production Studios. The course is designed to teach you the job ready skills that will put you ahead of the competition.... even if you're not the best artist in your class!
By the end of the course you'll:
- Have an understanding of what Virtual Production is (and is not)
- Know how Film/TV is different from games when using real time engines
- Know how to build a set specifically for the LED Wall and Virtual Scouting
- Have a finished set with a collection of camera captures that can be added to their portfolio
- Have the job ready skills that will put you ahead of the competition!

John Waynick is a Technical Environment Artist and Unreal Authorized Instructor with a passion for working with the real time engine across multiple industries.
John has most recently spent time in the world of Virtual Production with Lucasfilm, projecting virtual sets inside of Unreal Engine onto the LED Volume Wall for television productions in the Star Wars universe.

Filipe Magalhães is a Realtime Supervisor at NVIZ where he works on high profile movies and TV shows for companies such as Netflix and Disney,
Initially starting out as a character artist and sculptor for the games and collectibles industry he shifted gears into automation, pipeline and virtual production, using his artistic background to be a bridge between departments and assisting productions as a technical artist and supervisor.
