WHERE OUR GRADUATES WORK

They all started somewhere different.

Some arrived with zero experience; others with a degree in a 3D field. What they have in common is that they all started with us and landed a job!

  ARCHITECTURE    →    JUNIOR 3D ARTIST

Martiine now makes DLC for Rust at Facepunch Studios

“The course structure is great — more like an apprenticeship than a typical university course. You actually create art you feel passionate about.”

  CHILDCARE    →    LEVEL DESIGNER

Trey started with zero 3D experience

“Traditional schools never quite fit my learning style. My mentors' feedback helped me discover my own identity as a developer.”

Now a Level Designer at Pixel Games Studio.

  NO INDUSTRY CONTACTS    →    BLIZZARD

Monica became an Environment Artist at Blizzard Entertainment

“Vertex gave me access to connections I never thought possible. I still stay in touch with my mentor a year after being his student.”

Frequently asked questions

I have no experience at all. Is that a problem?

No. Our programs start with the foundations — Trey had zero 3D experience and is now a Level Designer. What matters is the hours you're willing to put in.

I already have experience — or a game related degree. Is this too basic for me?

A good portion of students come in with some 3D experience, and a good number arrive holding a degree that left them without the specific skills studios hire for. Foundations are always good to revisit, regardless of your experience level, and you'll receive personalized mentorship so it's calibrated to the work you're actually making, not to the slowest person in your group.

I don't know which program I want.

That's a common question. In the application just select whichever program grabs your attention the most — your admissions call exists partly to work this out with you.

Can I do this with a full-time job?

Many students do. You meet once per week during term I and twice per week during terms II & III, and complete the rest of the work on your own schedule — but plan for 20+ hours weekly.

Is this recognised by studios?

Yes! Vertex School is an Unreal Authorized Training Center and well known by game studios. Our graduates get jobs working at a variety of studios like Blizzard, Epic, CD Projekt Red, Facepunch, and more. Studios hire based on portfolios — which is exactly what you leave with.

Can I be based anywhere?

Yes. Everything is 100% online and we have students and mentors from all over the world.
