Currently enrolled in Game Art Institute's Environment Artist Bootcamp, Ira was already working as a freelance 3D artist. As a relative newcomer to the industry, however, she felt stuck and wanted to move beyond being "just good enough." Her goal is to grow as an artist under constructive critiques and feedback from her peers.
We checked in with Ira about her progress in the Environment Artist Bootcamp.
Listen to Ira speaks with Game Art Institute's Ryan Kingslien about her goals, her work, her process and her experience so far.
Student, GAI's Environment Artist Bootcamp
Ira discovered her passion for 3D art while working on a game project during her masters program in digital media. Since then, she has been educating herself on 3D professional skills and managed to enter the game industry as a junior 3D artist.
To seek improvement in her art and career, she joined Game Art Institute's Environment Artist Bootcamp in November 2017. During the Bootcamp, Ira has continued to show her great determination, curiosity, and capability to make fantastic environment art.
Ira has very clear goals on what she wants to achieve and is constantly seeking constructive feedback from instructors and peers. She is very open-minded to reaching out to any resource that can help her grow. Her humble attitude towards learning and sharing has brought her far in creating game environments. Ira is always looking forward to new opportunities to work on some exciting games.
