Learn how to sculpt primary, secondary, and tertiary forms in a structured step-by-step manner. This week, we are focused on making sure that you are thinking about sculpting like a professional and learning the “large forms first” principle.

During this week we sculpt the primary forms and secondary forms of the human face. Priority is paid to the “large forms first” principle and the way in which different anatomists have approached it.

During this week we approach the secondary and tertiary forms of the face. We will focus on the common mistakes people make with tertiary forms. Hint, they are not wrinkles or pores.

In this week we establish the primary forms of the torso. Special attention will be paid to muscle groups, bony landmarks and the principles of artistic anatomy.

In our second week of sculpting the human torso, we will break down the secondary and tertiary forms forms of the front. You’ll also be introduced to the concept of “lines “that wrap around the body and help us delineate structure.

In our third week of sculpting the human torso, we will break down the secondary and tertiary forms of the back. You’ll be introduced to the concept of Apollonian and Dionysian structures and introduced to one of the more chaotic parts of the human body.

During this week, you’ll learn how to sculpt the upper and lower arm. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the primary and secondary forms and being able to break down the arm into its most primitive shapes.

In this week you will learn how to break down the upper and lower leg into their primary and secondary forms. You’ll learn how to understand the knee and the hip joint, as well.

During this week, you’ll learn to understand the basic structure of a hand from a basic block form to a more refined shape.

In our last week, we focus on the structure of the feet, their proportions, and relevant anatomy. Priority will be placed on being able to create a simple blocked in shape in nearly any pose.
