How it Works

1. Sign up for the challenge!

Sign up for the challenge to immediately download our special brushes and receive important challenge announcements and information.

2. CHALLENGE PROMPT: Evolved Crustaceans

Your creature must relate to the challenge prompt but you're free to interpret it however you'd like. Let your creativity run wild!  

3. Create your creature

Challenge yourself to create something completely new!

Your creature must relate to the challenge prompt: Evolved Crustaceans

— ZBrush is the main software of creation: Get the free 30 day trial here
— Additional tools may also be used (Photoshop, Marmoset, Keyshot, etc.)
— Creature must be your own concept
— Only one submission per participant
— Your final submission can be textured or clay
— The artwork should be in 3D
— Final artwork: 1080x1080, JPEG or PNG

4. Submit and post your creature on social media by 11:59pm CST on January 26th

Submit your creature here and post your creature on Instagram, Facebook, and/or Twitter by 11:59pm CST on Wednesday, January 26th.

Be sure to tag us in your social media posts and use the hashtag #VertexSchoolChallenge

5. Winners announced

The challenge winners will be announced on Monday, February 7th.

There will be two winners this challenge - the judges winner and the popular vote winner.

The judges winner will be selected by the judges listed below. This winner will receive Marcin's Creature Sculpting course! 

The popular vote winner will be selected through a public voting page on our website - The link to this page will be provided to all participants on January 27th to share with friends and family, and is open for voting until February 3rd. 

The popular vote winner will receive Marcin's Creature Sculpting course AND the first ever Marcin Klicki NFT!

Winners will be announced via email, on our website, and their artwork will be shared to our social media pages.
